Request Review

You can request reviews on notes, care plans, documents, insurance claims, and invoices before you sign, submit, or send them. You can choose who to request a review from and when you want them to complete the review by. The reviewee will then see a task on their end to complete the review by the assigned date.

You can request multiple members to review the same item. You can request a member to review an item again once they have marked an item as reviewed. An item can still be signed, submitted, or sent when there are open review requests on it.

Reviewers can review an item by editing it directly or by adding a comment.

You can view an item's review history and see which members have been requested to review the document, what the review status is, when the item was reviewed, and more.


Request review (EMR)

To request review on a note, care plan, document, insurance claim, or invoice:

  • Go to the EMR (e.g. emr.avonhealth.com)
  • Click on the hamburger menu on the top left corner > Patients > Click on "View chart" for the appropriate patient
  • Find the item you want to get reviewed
  • Scroll to the bottom of the object and then click on More > Request review
  • The request review modal will pop up. In it, select:
    • Request review from": Which organization member you want to review the item
    • Due by: When the review should be completed by
  • Click "Request Review"

The reviewee will get a task on their end to review the item. For the reviewee to review the item, the reviewee should:

  • Go to the EMR (e.g. emr.avonhealth.com)
  • Click on the hamburger menu on the top left corner > Patients > Click on "View chart" for the appropriate patient
  • Click on "Tasks" on the top bar
  • Find the task titled "Review {{Note, Care Plan, Document, Insurance Claim, or Invoice}}: ({{Name of Item}})"
  • Click on the item name to go to the item that needs to be reviewed
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Marked Reviewed"
  • Click "Mark Reviewed" on the confirmation modal that pops up

View review history (EMR)

To view the review history of a note, care plan, document, insurance claim, or invoice:

  • Click on the hamburger menu on the top left corner > Patients > Click on "View chart" for the appropriate patient
  • Find the item you want to view the review history of
  • Scroll to the bottom of the object and then click on More > View review history
  • The review history modal will pop up with a table with the following information:
    • Reviewer: Who is supposed to review the item
    • Status: The status of the review; can be "Needs Review" or "Reviewed"
    • Requested By: Who requested the review
    • Requested At: When the review was requested
    • Request Deadline: When the review should be completed by
    • Reviewed At: If the review was completed, when the review was completed
